Nursing Scholarships for Single Mothers
Nursing is often a natural career choice for single moms. Some women realize they have a knack for caring for others while they care for their children, and this may lead them to pursue a career in nursing.
The United States has gone through several nursing shortages; well-trained nurses with in-demand specialties can find work nationwide, in a variety of settings. As the population ages, more nurses will be needed to care for the elderly.
To meet the demand for highly-qualified nurses, many schools have opened fast-track programs for students with other degrees to complete a nursing training program quickly. For nurses who already have an R.N. or B.S.N. degree, similar fast-track programs may be available to move up the ladder with a Master’s degree or Nurse Practitioner license.
