New Lorain County high school graduates who earn a minimum 2.5 high school GPA by the end of the sixth semester high school grading period and are of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Island, Middle Eastern, Indian or Native American descent will be eligible for this award, which is available for three years or 72 credit hours. Each recipient must enroll at LCCC on a full-time basis and work a job either on or off campus. A mentoring program has been established to assist students with adjusting to the college experience. Recipients must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater each semester to maintain award eligibility. No application is required for students attending a Lorain County high school.
