Must be an African American graduate of a Duval County High School Have a career goal in the fire rescue arena Be enrolled at least part-time (6 or more credit hours) (or the equivalent of at least 225 contact hours) Firefighter I and Firefighter II students must show documentation of having passed the FSCJ Fire Academy pre-screening (to include criminal background check, driving record, polygraph exam, physical agility test, etc.) Students enrolled in the EMT course are not required to show documentation of having passed the FSCJ Fire Academy pre-screening * Preference will be given to those students who wish to enter the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
