The following are financial aid programs available to students who are residents of the state of New Hampshire.
NH Incentive Program
Purpose: Provide financial assistance to NH students attending eligible institutions in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont).
Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; demonstrate financial need as determined by the federal formula; meet application deadline; be a part-time or full-time undergraduate student with no previous bachelor's degree, attend an eligible institution in New England.
Award: $125 to $1,000 per year
Deadline: The federal processor must receive Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by May 1st. at www.fafsa.ed.gov
Leveraged Incentive Grant Program
Purpose: Provide grant assistance on the basis of merit and need to full-time undergraduate NH students at NH accredited institutions.
Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; demonstrate financial need as determined by the federal formula and by merit as determined by the institution; be a sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student.
Award: ; Determined by the institution. Awards have ranged from $250 to $7,500, and averaged $1,056 for AY 04-05.

Workforce Incentive Program
The Workforce Incentive Program links higher education with critical workforce needs. There are two components to this program: forgivable loans and education loan repayment.The Workforce Shortage Areas for 2007/08 are:
- Nursing - LPN through Graduate
- Education (Teaching) Chemistry
- General Science
- Mathematics
- Physical Science
- Physics
- Special Education
- World Languages (Foreign Languages)
Forgivable Loan Component - for CURRENT STUDENTS
Purpose: Provide incentive for students to pursue careers in critical workforce shortage areas at eligible institutions whose main campus is in NH and to encourage students to then seek employment in NH after completion of their career program.
Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; demonstrate financial need as determined by the institution; meet application deadline; be a part- or full-time student in an approved program.
Award: Determined by the institution

Scholarships for Orphans of Veterans
Purpose: Provide financial assistance (room, board, books and supplies) to children of parent(s) who served in World War II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam (Southeast Asian Conflict) or the Gulf Wars, or any other operation for which the armed forces expeditionary medal or theater of operations service medal was awarded to the veteran.Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; be between the ages of 16-25; be enrolled half-time or greater; your parent(s) died while on active duty or from a service-related disability and was a NH resident at time of death; attending a NH public institution of higher education.
Award: Maximum of $2,500 per year
PLEASE NOTE: Recipients are also eligible to receive a tuition waiver from the institution.

Granite State Scholars Program
Purpose: Provide the incentive for highly qualified NH residents to pursue study at NH public institutions and to provide an incentive for NH public institutions to establish endowments for the purpose of providing need-based scholarships to eligible students.Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; be designated as a Granite State Scholar; demonstrate financial need as determined by the federal formula; be an undergraduate student with no previous bachelor's degree; attend an eligible NH public college or university.

Medical Education Program
Purpose: Provide access to Dartmouth Medical School leading to a doctoral degree in allopathic medicine.Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident as determined by completion of Residency Form; be accepted to the medical program at Dartmouth Medical School
Award: Capitation award is made directly to the institution

Veterinary Education Program
Purpose: Provide access to institutions offering programs in veterinary medicine.Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident as determined by completion of Residency Form; Tufts University is based on need; Cornell University is based on merit.
Award: $12,000 per year paid directly to institution

Future Educators Academy
Purpose: Provide the incentive for NH residents enrolled in Exploring the Art of Teaching to pursue a teacher education program at NH institutions and to work as a teacher in NH.Eligibility Criteria: Graduating seniors who have completed or are currently enrolled in Exploring the Art of Teaching and who plan to enroll in a teacher preparation program at a NH two-year or four-year college or university
Award: $10,000, $7,500 and $5,000 scholarships

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program
Administered by the NH Department of Education: Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship ProgramPurpose: Provide incentive for exceptionally able students to pursue study at postsecondary institutions.
Eligibility Criteria: Be a NH resident; be a U.S. citizen, or eligible non-citizen; not be ineligible to receive Title IV aid as a result of default on a federal student or other federal aid; be a graduate from a public or private secondary school or received the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma in the year in which the award is offered; be a full-time student; apply during senior year in high school.
Award: Up to $1,500
Deadline: First Friday in April
