| To qualify, potential recipients must be a graduate of a high school located in Newton County; enroll as a full-time student at East Central the fall semester following high school graduation; have a high school grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; and demonstrate leadership qualities by serving in a leadership role as a member of a student organization or organizations such as intramural sports, or athletic team but not on an athletic scholarship.
Leadership qualities will exemplify the Rotary Four Way Test of the things they think, say or do. (Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?). The applicant must complete a scholarship application form; and submit three written letters of recommendation from high school principal or superintendent, at least one teacher, and a prominent citizen of the community stating he or she meets the Rotary Four Way Test. |
