| Applicants must already have a Distinguished Scholar Award and must attend a Maryland college and enroll as a full-time student in a teacher education program. Applicants must be Maryland residents and, if a dependent student, parents must be Maryland residents. Candidates are required to earn an annual grade point average of 3.0 in order to keep this award. Recipients must sign a promissory note that says they will teach full-time in a Maryland public school one year for each year they received the scholarship, or pay the money back with interest. | |
