Scholarships are provided by the Hawai’i Community Foundation. Dr. Hans Zimmerman established this foundation to provide financial assistance to individuals in Hawaii wishing to pursue an education in a health field. During his long and productive career in Hawaii, Dr. Zimmerman encouraged countless individuals to choose careers in medicine. At his death, additional assets came into the foundation so that it is now one of the largest scholarship funds in Hawaii.
Additional Information
Applicant must major in Education with emphasis on teaching. Preference given to non-traditional students with at least two years of teaching experience. Preference given to students of Hawaiian ethnicity or students from the neighbor islands who plan to teach in Hawai‘i. Must have a minimum GPA 2.8.
