| Established to provide financial assistance for college to high school students who participate in the Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) of the National Rifle Association (NRA). | |

| Applicants to the Y.E.S. program must be high school sophomores or juniors with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. They must include information on their school activities, a description of their shooting sports activities, an essay of 2 to 5 pages on the second amendment and its significance in American society, transcripts, and recommendations. Based on their applications, approximately 20 students each year are chosen to visit the Washington, D.C. area in June to spend six days touring the city and learning about American government and history, the U.S. constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the role and mission of the association. The participants in the program judged as most outstanding, based on their original applications and their work in Washington, are selected to receive these scholarships. | |
