| Established to provide financial assistance for continuing education to opera students. | |

| Any opera student between the ages of 18 and 24 may enter this audition and competition. Their teacher or coach must be a member of the National Opera Association. Applicants must submit a cassette tape with two arias, and judges select the finalists on the basis of those recordings. Finalists are then invited to auditions where they present four arias in contrasting styles and periods, in three languages, including one originally in English. | |
