| Eligible to compete are trumpet players who are intermediate school students between 11 and 13 years of age, high school students between 14 and 18 years of age, full-time undergraduate students up to 23 years of age, and master’s degree students up to 28 years of age. Entrants compete in the following divisions: the Stu’s Music Shop, Inc. Young Artists Trumpet Ensemble Division, for studetns from 11 to 13 years of age; the Stephen and Bonnie Simon High School Division, for students from 14 to 18 years of age; the Southern Ohio Music Company Trumpet Ensemble Division, for students from 18 to 28 years of age; the Warburton Music Products College Jazz Division, for students from 18 to 28 years of age; the United Musical Instruments College Division, for undergraduate students younger than 23 years of age; and the Blackburn Trumpets Masters Division, for students from 24 to 28 years of age. For the solo divisions, intermediate and high school students should prepare an audio recording, up to 8 minutes, of literature from the standard repertoire; college and master’s division studetns must select the works for their tapes from a list prepared by the sponsor. | |
