| Established to recognize and reward outstanding short stories written by college students at schools belonging to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM). | |

| Eligible to compete are students at colleges that belong to ACM. They may submit up to two stories to their campus’s English department. The story need not have been written especially for the competition, but it cannot have been previously published off-campus. Each department selects the four best stories submitted and sends them to ACM’s national office. the finalist is selected from that group. | |
