| To apply, you must be a resident of Alameda or Contra Costa Counties and a B.S. geology major. Selection criteria include evidence of academic excellence, participation in extra-curricular geological activities and professional goals. The Department is very grateful to the Castro Valley Mineral and Gem Society for their generous and continuous support of our students.
Competition is usually held each fall quarter. To apply, submit a letter of application describing your achievements, activities, and goals to Prof. Nancy Fegan. Awardees are expected to attend a meeting of the Society to receive the award. We encourage all qualified students to apply and please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Geological Sciences if you have any questions. |
